Things Taylor Band Students Need to Have
All Students
1. Official Taylor Band T-Shirt (purchased from the band)
2. Official Band Khaki Shorts (from Academy)
3. Black (solid) Crew Socks (to be worn with uniform)
4. *Official Band Half-Gallon Water Jug (to be used at EVERY
rehearsal and football game)
5. Music Lyre for your specific instrument
6. Music Flip Folder (must have at EVERY football game)
7. Each student is required to have his/her uniform professionally
dry-cleaned 3 times during the Fall semester. (cleaning dates
will be announced)
8. Students who play a shool-owned instrument (with the exception
of percussionists) must purchase instrument insurance at the
beginning of the school year. ($25.00)
9. Percussionists must pay the Fall Percussion Fee. ($50.00)

Wind (brass and woodwind) Students
A. Clarinet and Saxophone Students
1. Swab
2. 4 working reeds in case at all times
3. Reed Holder (one that will hold the reeds flat) (not the one
that the reed comes in)
B. Flute Students
1. Tuning/Cleaning Rod
2. Soft Cloth (for cleaning inside instrument)
C. Trombone Students
1. “Trombotine” (slilcone slide cream)
2. Old rag or sock (for slide cleaning)
3. Spray Bottle (fine mist) – “Super Slick” bottle is
recommended
4. Valve Oil (trigger trombones only)
5. Snake Brush
6. Mouthpiece Brush (highly recommended)
7. Tuning Slide Grease (slide cream will not work for this)
D. All Other Brass Students
1. Valve Oil
2. Tuning Slide Grease
3. Mouthpiece Brush and Snake Brush
4. Bath Towel (baritone students only)
